Linn County supervisors hire H G O Donnell and Frank Healy to issue notices of expiration of redemption time for tax sale certificates from January 6 1936 and December 7 1936. Notices will target properties with unpaid taxes with redemption periods and potential tax deeds.
The National Council of Jews and Christians sponsors a two day Brotherhood Day event in Cedar Rapids with an opening 3 p.m. meeting at the Y M C A featuring ministers and religious leaders. Dr James M Ward of Chicago serves as Midwest secretary.

Funeral set Friday at Immaculate Conception Church with burial in Camanche Ia.
A car reported stolen by P. J. McGuire was found on Fifth Avenue SE with a cache of stolen goods from a gasoline camp store to American Legion souvenirs. McGuire later recovered the vehicle and identified belongings. unclaimed items included a gas stove, coats, blankets, shoes, and a zipper bag. A stove and other items linked to Heath Smith and license plates stolen from George Telecky were also recovered.

Funeral services for Dr Rose Wistein, physician, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Barta chapel. Rev Melvin Welke and Rev Joseph Bren will conduct. The body will be cremated. visitation is Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mrs Katherine Kent wife of Clyde A Kent of 1511 Avenue NE died at a local hospital at 4 30 a m after an illness Born June 11 1884 in Terre Haute Ind she married Clyde A Kent Oct 8 1910 in Cedar Rapids and had lived here since then She is survived by her husband two sisters Miss Anna Frerichs and Mrs William Decker both of Los Angeles one brother Fred Frerichs of Terre Haute a nephew Jack Grace of Los Angeles and several uncles and aunts She was a member of English Lutheran Church and active in church work Friends may call at Turner chapel with the time to be announced later
Mrs. Emma J. Nelson wife of Leonard Nelson died at 3 45 p m Tuesday at her home 906 D avenue NW after a long illness Funeral arrangements were to be announced by the family in the local notices today.
Mrs Loretta Shearer widow of Milton Shearer died after a brief illness at the Home For Aged Women where she had lived six years at 5 15 PM Tuesday She was born March 1857 in Burlington She is survived by a sister Mrs Frank Reynolds of Herington Kansas three nieces and four nephews The body will be taken to Toledo for services Thursday afternoon with burial there Friends may call at Turner chapel Wednesday morning
George Harrington 40 of near Norway died at a local hospital at 9 a.m. Wednesday after a brief illness. He was born in Norway on September 19, 1896. He is survived by his wife Mary. The body is at Monahan mortuary pending funeral arrangements.

Ww L Rammage a former B C R and N train dispatcher of this city died at his home in Chaffee Missouri early Wednesday word received by C H Stone 1804 Park Avenue SE. He left here over thirty years ago his wife Mary died about twenty years ago and he is survived by a daughter Mrs Jessie Traer Reissaur of Chaffee. The body will be taken to Vinton his former home for burial Friday afternoon.
Funeral services are held in Turner chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday conducted by Dr J P Van Horn and Rev Elton D Wells. Burial follows at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
