City Council votes 3-1 to build the Fifth to Eighth Avenue diagonal to connect to I-380, with property acquisition to begin immediately and construction about three years away. County approves 89000 for land needed on Feather Ridge Road

Linn County Deputies Ratify One Year Contract

Linn County sheriff's deputies approved a one year agreement covering 68 personnel with an average 4 percent raise. Dyersville Couple Charged With Tax Evasion

Robert G. and Darlene H. Necker face federal charges in Cedar Rapids for evading about $13,000 in 1978 to 1980 income taxes and for filing a false 1980 corporate return for Office Tap Inc. The couple has filed a pre sentence investigation pleal document hinting at a guilty plea, though not binding. The 1980 corporate return underreports income from 22,440.63 to 779.76 with taxes due 3,672.29.
