April Johnson Parole Hearing Set By State Board
The State Board of Parole will hear April Johnson's case this Friday. Susan Hunter of the Iowa Correctional Institute for Women at Mitchellville says Johnson, a former Cedar Rapids resident, was convicted in 1973 of a bad check and sentenced to Rockwell City. After going on furlough in 1974 she stayed at large until surrendering to state officials in January. Hunter notes an early release consideration may occur this time, though normally the annual review is in November. The board may deny, release on custody, or delay until a parole plan is ready.
