Rinas pushes plan for combined county transit center
Linn County Supervisor Joe Rinas is negotiating a lease to centralize motor pool, sheriff and health department vehicles at a five acre site south of Highway 30 on West Post Road. The plan would house LIFTS operations ECICOG offices and could reduce cash contributions through shared space and parts purchasing while potentially drawing a federal grant. Moving the sheriff's garage from Hiawatha would affect response times and may require strategic vehicle placement.
