Inwood State Bank Fails Amid Farm Slump in Iowa
Regulators closed Inwood State Bank in Lyon County and sold it to Security Savings Bank in Larchwood. The failure, blamed on bad farming loans, marks the third Iowa bank failure this year with more expected as regulators warn the farm economy remains weak. Deposits insured, borrowers seek new lenders, and the Larchwood bank paid FDIC a 327500 premium for the takeover.
