Branstad to keep collecting salary and pension
Gov. Terry Branstad will continue to draw a $130,000 salary and a state pension worth over $50,000 while seeking to opt out of a second pension. Spokesman Tim Albrecht notes he intends to restore credibility and create jobs, contrasting with Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder who takes a $1 salary. Branstad spent last year without pay and covered health insurance costs while visiting all 99 Iowa counties.
