Iowa Geological Survey details and aims in state resources
The Iowa Geological Survey outlines its duty to answer questions about the state's minerals geology and potential investments. It lists board members led by Gov. Wilson and state leaders, notes the state geologist Prof. Arthur Trowbridge, and details focus areas from coal beds to groundwater, soils, timber, and water power. The survey coordinates with federal and state bodies, maintains gauges for groundwater, and cautions about oil prospecting risks while supporting maps and reports.
