Iowa City sexual assault trial opens in kidnapping case
The 52 year old victim testified on the first day of Micah Matthews sexual abuse and kidnapping trial in Iowa City. Prosecutors described a June 2007 home invasion in which Matthews allegedly forced the woman at gunpoint to withdraw cash then assaulted her, while the defense questioned identification and Miranda rights. The trial, before Judge Doug Russell, is expected to conclude this week.

Former office manager ordered to repay Hiawatha business
Andrea Federspiel former office manager at Shey Systems in Hiawatha was ordered to repay about 197 883 after embezzling since 2003. The 29 year old Center Point resident received five years probation and restitution following a January conviction for first degree theft.
