Rainmaker at Paramount Offers Strong Cast With Slow Second Act
The Rainmaker at Paramount Theatre features a skilled Guthrie Theatre cast led by Alexandra Barrie as Lizzie Curry and Joel Colodner as Bill Starbuck. A drought stricken Kansas farm setting frames a mix of comedy and romance with a grim undertone, though the second act drags. David Chambers directs a Midwest tour sponsored by Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, with showtime at 8 p.m. tonight.
