Grain storage reduces insect risk in exposed bins
Decker and Gunderson note that larger rates can be cut to one half gallon per 100 bushels. Small bins of 1000 to 2000 bushels exposed to weather are less likely to be infested than larger sheltered bins. In small exposed bins, winter temperatures drop to levels that few stored grain insects survive.
