Markets rallied with the Dow up 94.63 to 10 519.84 and the Nasdaq 23.10 higher at 4418.55 while NYSE volume reached 1.13 billion. Treasury yields slipped on three and six month bills, with one year bills easing last week.

Maytag shares fall on flat sales forecast and weaker earnings
Maytag Corp. warns earnings may be 10 percent or more below 1999's quarter, with flat home appliance sales and increased competition in floor care and vending machines. The stock closed down about 10.7 percent at 32.50 as analysts note the surprise of lower year-over-year results.
