Cedar Rapids considers 4.8 percent utility rate hike

Square D seeks tax break for 22 million Cedar Rapids expansion

Square D Co plans a 62 000 square foot addition to its Cedar Rapids research lab at 3700 Sixth St SW. The Palatine based maker seeks urban revitalization tax exemption for a 22 million project including 6 million in building and capital investment, to be completed in three to four years in phases starting this spring. The Cedar Rapids lab develops and tests circuit breakers and high current switching gear and will need more technicians as workload grows.
