County workers win share of $17,000 longevity award
Twenty three Linn County sheriff deputies and communications operators will receive a portion of a $17,000 arbitrator award in a longevity pay dispute. Arbitrator Lamont Stallworth ruled longevity is a vested right under the contract, requiring a last payment to those with added service after the November 1998 payment. The county must fund the award and amend the 1996 99 labor contract.
