Linn County to sign 10 year lease for Friend of Court site

The Linn County Board of Supervisors approved a 2-0 vote to lease the Friend of Court offices at 120 Third Ave. SW for 10 years with Vernon Village Partnership. The lease includes second floor space for seven new employees and an escalating rent starting at 3295 dollars monthly for five years.

Marion firm rebuilds after fire and health setback

Triple E Manufacturing Co. in Marion faces recovery after a Monday night blaze damaged a residence above the shop. Owner Virgil Johnson and his wife lived upstairs. no injuries, but Johnson's mother was hospitalized for stress related heart ailment. Lower business area had water damage. many records and possessions lost. Damage estimated around 100000 as fire chief cites overloaded extension cords and inadequate fuses. The firm continued operations Tuesday using improvised power.
