Test drive leads police to suspect Randy Copenhaver robbery
In Cedar Rapids the 42 year old Randy Copenhaver is charged with robbery in the second degree after a 1999 red Chevrolet Tahoe used in the Community Savings Bank robbery was test driven before the crime and returned to Vernon Heights Auto Sales. The incident follows prior minor theft guilty pleas in 2004 and 2005.

Audit urges Hills oversight of fire department finances
A state audit of Hills Iowa finds the volunteer fire department kept separate financial accounts from city funds. The report covers July 1 2006 to September 30 2009 and notes about 30800 in disbursements lacked adequate documentation and about 13700 may not have had a public purpose. It recommends city officials control accounts and review activity via the City Council with proper records. No wrongdoing cited.
