Chase and crash end in arrest in Cedar Rapids
James F. Surrett, 46, is charged with eluding, driving while barred, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia after a high speed pursuit that reached 100 mph and ended with a near head on collision involving a Cedar Rapids school bus. Four students and two staff were uninjured. Surrett and a truck driver were hospitalized with non life threatening injuries. Police will review the incident and department policy.
