British artist Michael Landy opens Break Down in a defunct London department store. He inventories and destroys all his possessions over two weeks, including a red Saab, to critique consumerism, while co sponsor Artangel notes public interest in bidding. Landy plans to bury the resulting blue pulverizer output under a mall.
