Charles Preston Cavanaugh, 40, of Cedar Rapids, runs Rise Above Leathers by Preston using Midwest Grade A leather. His belts and accessories fund local rebuilding efforts, born from sandbagging near Mercy Hospital in 2008 and launched in 2009 with ongoing donations to Greater Cedar Rapids revitalization.
