Regents Hospital seeks 9.7 million to match inflation
Regents Hospital says it needs 9.7 million dollars to keep pace with hospital inflation. The meeting reiterated the policy of delegating health care contract negotiations to the universities. UI canceled a contract before January 1 to avoid a year-long commitment. UI Hospitals CEO Donna Katen-Bahensky says 39 million is needed total to offset under reimbursements by Wellmark. Wellmark contends UI reimbursements rank among the top five percent of Iowa hospitals.
