Sister Mary Margaret Therese McCarthy of St. Mary's Con vent Iowa City died in a Los Gatos California auto crash while visiting the Sisters of Charity. Born August 9 1895 in Cedar Rapids she served with the Sisters of Charity since 1959 and taught at St Patrick's Cedar Rapids and Iowa City plus Cascade Cedar Falls Clinton East Moline and Chicago. She is survived by her brother Desmond T McCarthy of Cedar Rapids. Burial at Mt Carmel Dubuque announced later.

Harry Redmon 86 of 1030 Ninth Street SW Cedar Rapids died Friday after two years residence in the city. Born June 23 1884 in Humbolt Kansas he married Julie M Ritchie in 1920 at Fort Smith Arkansas. Survived by wife six sons eight daughters 41 grandchildren 66 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Mrs Emil Kohout 86 widow of former Cedar Rapids Fire Chief Emil P Kohout died in a nursing home after a long illness. Born August 22 1884 she belonged to St James United Methodist Church Cedar chapter Order of Eastern Star. Burial Cedar Memorial. Visitation Turner Chapel West. Casket will not be opened. memorials to charity of donor’s choice.
