Licenses Suspended for Two Drivers by City Judge
Municipal Court Judge James Patterson suspended licenses for two drivers on Saturday. Robert Gates, a taxi driver from the Milner hotel, and Henry Hoppe of 628 Fifteenth avenue SE each received 20 day suspensions. Gates triple speeding since August. Hoppe blamed for losing control after a collision. Allen Dalton of Mt. Vernon faces automatic suspension by the state for failing to yield to a pedestrian and not posting financial responsibility. Dalton’s car struck Douglas Ruble of Springville as he crossed First avenue E at Thirtieth street. Dalton was fined $50 and costs. A 15 year old, Dennis Meyers of 2012 E avenue NE, was ordered to write an essay on safe driving for driving without a license and may not apply again until May 1.

Police say Wallace A. Sanford, sought in Cedar Rapids, is now an inmate at Richmond Virginia state prison.
