Fire damages downtown Marion antiques mall and nearby business
A major fire in Marion damaged the downtown antiques mall and a nearby pharmacy on Seventh Avenue. Sorg Pharmacy will move to a temporary building and reopen by Monday, with supplies en route to replace discarded medicine. Firefighters from several departments contained the blaze, saving parts of buildings and halting traffic on a main avenue. The 126 year old Park Place Hotel building history is noted as residents assess the loss.
