Will Replace Wadena Bridge Not Repair It
West Union reports the south end of Wadena bridge will be replaced rather than repaired. A Fayette county engineer says the damaged 1884 structure would require posting unsafe limits if repaired, and a new bridge is planned after a truck with 7000 gallons of fuel oil caused a 40 foot section to fail. The detour bridge remains in use for vehicular traffic.
