Sulphur Feeding For Cocci Dis Prevention Tested

University of Wisconsin researchers tested 277 White Leghorn cockerels to see if early sulphur in the diet raises resistance to cocci diosis. Among 116 sulphur-fed birds 8 weeks old at start, only 4 died after seven weeks of exposure, while 19 of 161 non fed birds died. They caution cleanliness remains crucial and suggest feeding 2 percent sulphur up to 8 to 10 weeks with care to avoid rickets in indoor chicks.
