Weinberger spoke on This Week and noted Bush’s stance while acknowledging a Jan. 7 1986 meeting about weapons for hostages.
A northeast Missouri carbon monoxide disaster killed four members of the Bruns family and injured five others. Sharon Augspurger, 55, her sons Allen, 32, and Dennis, 30, died with Sharon's husband James Augspurger, 55, at a farmhouse near Arbela. Wes Bruns, 25, a LaSalle High School coach in Cedar Rapids, survived initially and was hospitalized in St. Louis. The furnace fault is blamed. authorities reported the tragedy affected Cedar Rapids ties and community mourning.
