Johnny Paychek Faces New Legal Fight Over Manager Contract
CHICAGO AP A injunction bars John J Paychek from fighting until contracts signed by Clarence W. Rapp are made, amid an accounting suit charging breach of contract by Paychek manager Harold Steinman and promoter Pinky George. Rapp claims a 1935 agreement to manage Paychek and 10 percent of purses, arguing earnings exceed 25 000 and he is entitled to one third. The Illinois athletic commission recently recognized Steinman as Paychek’s manager instead of Rapp.
