Fire deaths falling in lowa
Fewer people statewide are dying in fires. The deaths of Troy Hansen in a Center Point duplex blaze last month and Terry White of Williamsburg early Monday illustrate ongoing safety work. Iowa reports 30 fire deaths this year, with declines from 48 in 2005 and 33 in 2006, attributed to prevention campaigns and more smoke detectors.
