Vlado Dapcevic, a former Yugoslav partisan commissar linked to a pro Stalinist party effort, has been arrested and is under investigation for hostile activities. Belgrade district court reports he was seized within Yugoslavia during a period of suspected anti Tito activity.
Cedar Rapids police investigate vandalism at the Plaza theater in Lindale Plaza where six glass doors and a display case were shattered early Friday with about 1800 dollars in damage. Richard Eyman of 369 Eighteenth Street SE, an employee at the Paramount theater, reported his truck front windshield smashed by vandals the same morning.
Alfred Sherman a 54 year old nursing home patient with delusions of being a prisoner in World War II Germany fled Monday night. Police searched Jenks and nearby hills in sub freezing air for Sherman who wore light clothing. Family says stroke has confused his sense of time and fuels his belief enemies are pursuing him.

A gas line spill sparked an explosion and fire Friday at a building housing Aquarius beauty salon in Muskegon Heights Michigan. One man died and four were injured. officials noted victims were not customers.
Police responded to a southwest side building after a resident warned another to stop using hot water or face violence. The dispute over hot water allegedly included a threat to shoot the other resident in the head.
Donna M. Anderson a 39 year old from Hiawatha was arrested Friday night by a Linn County deputy on a drunk driving charge. She was stopped on Edgewood Road NW and also booked for speeding. She is being held in the Linn County jail.
Chile's military government announced the expulsion of imprisoned British doctor Sheila Cassidy who treated wounded left-wing guerrillas. The interior ministry said she must leave after Monday December 29, with charges dropped and military courts having decided not to press charges.
A 1,500 pound bull broke free from a ranch truck in Tampa Florida leading police and civilians on a two hour pursuit. The animal rammed fences and cruisers near Tampa International Airport. An officer was knocked down and an 18 year old youth was kicked in the head. Tom Priddy required stitches but said he had a heck of a good time.
In Tampa a 1966 blue sedan trunk opened by police for auction revealed neatly boxed cremated remains labeled Marion Boyee Olds, 70, who died in November 1967 and was cremated December 4 of that year. The discovery occurred eight years after her death as officers prepared the car for sale.

Robert Evans 23 of 113 Thirty-sixth Avenue SW was released after similar injuries. Mary Jane Trimble 75 of 700 Thirty-fifth Street Marion suffered fractured ribs as a passenger in a three car collision at Mt Vernon Road and Fortieth Street SE. Scott A. Taylor 23 of 4100 Hickory Hill Lane SE drove one car. Jeffrey M. Kramer 16 of 1122 Sixth Street SE drove another. Kramer was charged with failure to yield on a left turn.

Willow Springs police evacuated 33 stores at the Old Willow shopping center after a high explosive device was found behind a travel agency. The device, described as a metal container with plastic end caps and a wire, was detonated at the police firing range. No injuries were reported and FBI involvement followed the incident near Chicago.
Maxine Detleffen, 51, of Tipton, was listed in satisfactory condition at Mercy Hospital Iowa City after her car skidded on an icy West Branch street, struck a utility pole. Police reported the Christmas morning accident.
