Special holiday meal brings normalcy to Anamosa inmates
Warden Bill Sperfslage greeted staff and inmates at Anamosa State Penitentiary as a traditional Christmas meal was served. The menu included turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls, pumpkin pie, relishes and milk, with staff noting the day’s uplifting mood and sense of normalcy behind stone walls. Kelly Fitzpatrick, the food service coordinator, helped prepare trays and called it a fun day.
