Jury to split on first degree murder verdicts in Linn case

Monticello Board and Teachers Ratify New Contract
The Monticello school board ratified a new contract with the Monticello Education Association. The tentative agreement was reached Monday and ratified Thursday night. Bargaining agents Farris Ray and Associates of Marion and association president Bob Roussell led the talks begun October 15. The deal includes a 9.03 percent base salary raise from 10 525 to 11 475 for teachers, with nurses earning 8 951 to 12 623 under the same agreement.
