Samuel Sheppard was convicted of second degree murder for the July 4 death of his wife Marilyn in Cleveland. He also visited the Grosvenor Square U S Navy command HQ but U S spokesmen said they had no knowledge of him.
In Cleveland a jury finds Dr Samuel Sheppard guilty of second degree murder after charging him with first degree murder. The court explains premeditation determines first degree versus second degree. without proof of planning the crime is second degree, often called a crime of passion.
The first day of winter arrived dull with overcast skies and typical cold, fog, and light drizzle across much of Iowa. Forecasters expect little change with slightly warmer temperatures possible. Cedar Rapids measured 31 degrees at 2:30 PM with a 27 overnight low and 30 high on Tuesday.
