Marion teen redefines needs with holiday party project
Bryce Satterly a 15 year old Eagle Scout planned the Bev Saathoff Memorial Holiday Party at Central Church of Christ Cedar Rapids drawing Waypoint and Madge Phillips Center families. Volunteers and donations supported 100 guests with gifts food and a festive meal. He aims to make the event an annual tradition.

Elkader care center nearing completion after five years
After five years of planning the Elkader Day Care Center is set to gain a permanent home in the former Farm Service Agency building on Elkader's northeast side. The center, along with preschool and Head Start, will expand with about 30 children attending daily and 90 enrolled overall. fundraising includes a $60,000 tally with a $30,000 donation from Peoples State Bank.
