Grant Wood AEA chief John Speer to retire this summer
John Speer, longtime Grant Wood Area Education Agency chief administrator, will retire June 30 after more than six years leading the agency. Speer, 53, says his goal was to leave places better than he found them and to treat people with care and professionalism. The agency serves a seven county region with about 74,000 students and offers disability services, general education, and media services.
