Driver Blackout Suspected in Two Car Crash
Edward J. Gorman age 23 of 1621 Ellis Boulevard NW suffered severe facial lacerations in a two car collision in the 500 block of A Avenue NE. He was in fair condition in Mercy hospital ICU. Dorothea A. Kimball age 38 of 1216 Second Avenue SE drove east and was unharmed. Police say Gorman may have blackout from medication. No charges filed.

Fatal Fire at Fountain Nursing Home Suspected From Mouse Nest
A state fire inspector said a mouse nest near an oil furnace may have started a blaze that destroyed a 60 year old nursing home in Fountain Indiana, killing 20 elderly patients. Deputy state fire marshal Howard Boegaholtz noted the nest could have been above the furnace and called it a possibility.
