Iowa Head Start underfunded as thresholds unmet in many states
The National Institute for Early Education Research report says Head Start, serving over 7,600 Iowa children aged 3 and 4, is significantly below classroom quality thresholds in 18 states including Iowa. Authors urge boosting the budget to over 20 billion dollars amid state to state implementation gaps and reliance on local partners in Eastern Iowa.
