Buffalo Evades Capture Near Swisher After Dart Attempts
A 500 pound buffalo owned by Mervyn Long escaped a Swisher farm corral on December 7 and fled Friday afternoon despite four tranquilizer darts. Last seen heading toward a draw northwest of Swisher, the animal travels about 30 miles per hour and repeatedly clears fences. The Long family plans renewed pursuit with two Wayland brothers and additional tranquilizer darts.
