Defense Claims Iowa Falls Man Died of Gas Fumes
The defense in a murder case centered on William Sond of Coon Rapids as they argued that James Ward 31 died from carbon monoxide poisoning rather than injuries from a fight outside an Iowa Falls tavern. State Center and Des Moines experts testified using autopsy slides and a hypothetical question to support the contention. Prosecution witnesses previously linked Ward’s death to injuries from the fight involving Berlin and others.
