Sextortion warning follows teen sexting case
In Cedar Rapids, prosecutors warn teens about sexting after Garret Roegner, 25, received six and a half years for transporting child pornography and extortion. They say one image shows a 17 year old engaged with Roegner when he was 19.

Mary E. Sheeley, 41, rural Garrison, is charged with forgery and second degree theft after allegedly forging the city clerk’s signature on 36 checks of the Garrison city funds between August and December. The total amount cited is $4,062.97. Sheeley was jailed and released pending a reappearance.

Ainsworth woman found guilty in death of dependent adult
Lori Jo Bean, 50, of Ainsworth, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and five related charges for the death of 78-year-old Joye Gentzler who lived with the Beans. Jurors also found Bean guilty of second degree theft neglect of a dependent person and three counts of dependent adult abuse causing serious injury. Gentzler died after severe malnutrition dehydration and multiple injuries. Sentencing scheduled later with up to 37 years possible.
