Gossamer Condor Flight Described by Bakersfield Enthusiast
Vern Oldershaw of Bakersfield California recalls his six month voluntary role in the Gossamer Condor project. The human powered aircraft piloted a complex eight around two pylons near Shafter on August 23 1977 achieving ten foot altitude. The craft designed by Paul MacCready and Peter Lissaman won 586000 from Henry Kremer.
