Keota Nursing Home Cited Over 30 Violations After Resident’s Death

Iowa Capital Dispatch reports 33 state and federal violations at Keota Health Care Center, a 26 bed facility. The 174 page state inspectors’ report cites staffing, abuse, medication errors, infection control, safety, and quality of care issues. Six fines totaling 37750 dollars were proposed but suspended pending federal action. A resident died after a fall and delays in care, with further abuse and neglect findings. The home is managed by Mission Health of Florida.
