No killer identified in 2021 Iowa City shooting trial
Indiana man Renard Winfield Jr faced jurors denying involvement in the April 2021 fatal shooting of Tommy Curry in the Meadow Lark Apartment Complex lot Iowa City. Investigators linked a 2020 motive to Curry and described Winfield’s online dating trap and firearm use. Evidence included a 9 mm pistol and cartridge analysis. no weapon was recovered. Winfield’s defense could reveal testimony this morning as closing arguments approach.
