Opioid Addiction Tied To Long-Term Prescriptions
A Washington Post Kaiser survey finds about one third of Americans on prescription opioids for at least two months report addiction or physical dependence. Most were introduced by doctors, not peers, and over six in ten heard little or no advice on stopping use. One in five cited insufficient information on side effects and risks.
