Saturday route buses aim to lift Cedar Rapids ridership
The City and Iowa DOT launched a Saturday service from 64 riders on Oct 1 to 137 on Oct 31. Weekly ridership rose from about 80 in week one to 132 in the last full week. Stops at downtown Cedar Rapids and Kirkwood drew the most riders with nearly 20 percent elderly or disabled users. About 70 percent paid via the Token Transit app.
