Sabin Townhome project backs TIF for Iowa City plan
Iowa City Economic Development Committee approved a near 1 million dollar tax increment financing rebate for A M Development to build 28 townhouse condominiums around a parking ramp on the former Henry Sabin Elementary School site at Dubuque and Harrison. The 30 million project includes 7 million condo costs and 122000 annual property tax gain, with three units set aside for the Iowa City Housing Fellowship. Construction hinges on Midwest One Bank building completion and a skywalk connection, with a 2016 finish target.
