Wallace Asked To Permit Estates In Iowa To Seal Corn
Des Moines AP Secretary of Agriculture Henry A Wallace faced a request from Gov Nelson Kraschel to amend federal regulations so estates that complied with the AAA program won’t lose benefits. The governor notes Iowa law forbids executors from borrowing except for debt payment, causing estates of AAA compliers who die to miss grain sealing and related benefits. The governor’s telegram urges immediate action to treat grain sealing as contract compliance, not state indebtedness.
