Prospect Place Mansion Becomes Cedar Rapids Hospital History
A Cedar Rapids mansion on Prospect Place, built by Young in 1887, failed as a private home and became a hospital project. In 1913 Lutheran interests planned a 60 room sanitarium here, later evolving into Prospect Place Hospital under Dr. Margaret Sherlock, with open house in 1928 marking its public debut on West Side Hill.
