Madrid airport crash kills 93 in jet collision
A taxiing Aviaco DC-9 collided with an Iberia Boeing 727 at Madrid Barajas during takeoff and exploded, killing 93. Iberia said 50 passengers and one crew died. Aviaco reported 42 dead. Dense fog and lack of ground radar cited. 23 survivors hospitalized.
