Airport plans to alter baggage screening process
Cedar Rapids Eastern Iowa Airport moves toward inline baggage handling to remove lobby screening. The plan includes a 10 000 square foot addition and phased work funded by passenger facility charges TSA and airport revenue to allow luggage to move from airline counters to screening and then to makeup and carts. Public hearing set for January 21 with initial design and bidding by February and construction by March.
