State climatologist Harry Hillaker reports autumn 2009 in Iowa averaged near normal with 64th warmest and 36th wettest rankings. Cedar Rapids and Iowa City posted near average mean temperatures and slightly above average rainfall while harvest benefited from a drier mid November.
