Tip for Safe Snow Shoveling
Precautions reduce risk during snow removal. Don't eat heavy beforehand or drink alcohol or caffeine. Warm up before going out. Wear a scarf over nose and mouth. Use a short handled shovel with a small scoop and lift small loads. Alternate 15 minutes shoveling with 15 minutes rest, pacing matters for those over 40 or with hypertension or heart disease.
